Rachel Z. Meyer

My name is Rachel Z. Meyer. I am a location sound mixer.

I began my journey into the audio world by co-hosting an outer space-themed radio show during my undergrad at Macalester College in Minnesota. I couldn’t get enough of radio and returned as an alum to co-host another radio show. I then went on to intern at WYSO, the local NPR station in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Eventually, I ended up sound mixing on a short film and loved it. I’d never been able to hear the crickets like that! Working in sound continually captures my interest. I have gone on to do location sound on everything from narrative to corporate to documentary. Working in sound exposes me to stories I wouldn't otherwise hear.I am an Ohio local but I am willing to, and enjoy, traveling both nationally and internationally.

Outside of work I practice MMA, swim, kayak, write, and hang out with my dog, Spice.

I am also a mixed media collage artist. If you would like to check out my art the link to my site is here!
